GRANDMA'S GARDEN
THE AIM OF THE PROPOSAL WAS TO CREATE A SMALL COZY PARK - PARK POD BAŠOU, WHICH WOULD ALLOW PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE SITE AND THE ASSOCIATED BASTIONS. THE PARK WAS INTENDED TO SERVE FOR LEISURE ACTIVITIES, EDUCATION, RELAXATION, AND SPORTS.
THE PARK DESIGN COMBINES SEVERAL FUNCTIONS. ONE OF THE COMPONENTS IS THE SO-CALLED "GRANDMA'S GARDEN," WHICH WOULD PROVIDE VISITORS A GLIMPSE OF TRADITIONAL GARDENING METHODS AND PLANT VARIETIES CULTIVATED IN SUCH GARDENS IN THE PAST. AS PART OF THE AREA, THERE SHOULD ALSO BE A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE BASTION, WHICH WOULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC IN THE FUTURE AS A MUSEUM. THE SURROUNDING AREA WAS DESIGNED AS A BACKDROP FOR SUPPORTING PROGRAMS SUCH AS SCREENINGS, EXHIBITIONS WITH BEEHIVES, AND TOURS OF "GRANDMA'S GARDEN," ETC. THE LOWER PART WITH THE MEADOW WAS DESIGNED AS AN OPEN SPACE FOR HOLDING CULTURAL EVENTS (E.G., MARKETS).
ACCESSIBILITY TO THE PARK IS ENSURED IN THE PROPOSAL THROUGH COBBLESTONE PATHS AND WALKWAYS.
THE PROPOSAL ALSO INCLUDES NEW FURNITURE INSPIRED BY THE THEME OF BEES AND THE HISTORY OF THE AREA. THE FURNITURE INCORPORATES THE SHAPE OF A HIVE, CORTEN (WEATHERING STEEL), AND INDIVIDUAL HERBS, WHICH ARE ENGRAVED INTO THE FURNITURE.
ADDITIONALLY, THE PARK FEATURES NEW NATURALLY INTEGRATED GREENERY.
